Alice is the new girl at school, ready to
start afresh. Jasper is the notorious laid-back trouble maker with more
suspensions than people think he can count.
On her first day, Alice and Jasper cross
paths and world war three is declared in the cafeteria over a ball and a
lack of a pair of them.
Jokes will fly, and egos will be
deflated, but everyone soon starts to agree that it is only a matter of
time before they end up together.
That is, if they don't kill each other first.

Pushing Buttons is a Twilight based fanfic written by enchanted-mind and first published 4 April 2011.
It is Alternate Universe, containing no vampires or supernatural themes, and is set in the modern world. It contains all the main characters as canon couples.
Instead of going with my usual instinct to make an angsty story, Pushing Buttons is fast, fun, and full of jokes. It's not meant to be a serious story (though I take great care to make sure it is still realistic and believable) and is supposed to be for some light entertainment.
The characters are, of course, a little out of character, but I've tried to keep them three-dimensional and similar to those in Twilight.
The story centres around Alice, a girl who has just started up at Greenview High after being a bullying victim at her old school, and Jasper, one of the school's court jesters. When the two of them meet, there is hardly an amicable exchange between them and so their need to outdo one another's smart remarks escalates very quickly. Any excuse to poke fun at the other will be taken.
But, of course, real people are more than just what appears on the surface...
